From Redding Roots to National Leadership
A Redding native, Mike began his pest control career as a seasonal technician before eventually becoming a business owner and industry leader.
Mike officially began his 2026–2027 NPMA presidency on July 1, 2026. At PestWorld in October, he addressed industry professionals from across the country, reflecting on his career, the importance of mentorship, and the creation of opportunities for the next generation.
He also outlined three priorities for his presidency: protecting the industry, promoting the pest management profession, and helping member businesses become stronger.
A Business and Legacy Shared With Bekki
Mike's journey to national leadership is also part of the story of Big Time Pest Control, a company he spent years growing alongside his late wife, Bekki.
Mike and Bekki purchased Big Time Pest Control in 2007, when it was a small operation. Together, they expanded the business into a company employing more than 56 people.
Bekki was an essential part of that growth. She helped manage customer service, improve business operations, and develop the internal systems that allowed the company to expand. Her contributions extended beyond Big Time, as she was also involved with the California Pest Management Association and NPMA, regularly attending industry events.
Bekki passed away in July 2025. Her dedication to the business, her family, and the pest management profession remains an important part of Big Time's history.
The company they grew together remains a lasting part of their shared legacy.
What This Milestone Means for Big Time Pest Control
The National Pest Management Association represents thousands of pest management professionals and businesses nationwide. Through industry advocacy, professional education, and leadership, the organization works to advance the pest management profession.
Mike's presidency puts a Northern California business owner in a position to help guide those efforts at the national level.
For our customers, that commitment to professional development is reflected in how we approach pest control every day. Our technicians receive ongoing training, and our team stays involved in industry organizations to keep up with advancements in pest management.
While Mike takes on this national leadership role, Big Time remains focused on providing knowledgeable, dependable pest control for the Northern California communities we serve.
A Proud Moment for Our Team and Community
We're proud to see Mike represent Big Time Pest Control, Redding, and Northern California on the national stage.
This achievement reflects years of hard work, the contributions of Bekki, and the dedication of the team that helps make Big Time what it is today.
We look forward to seeing Mike's continued contributions to the pest management profession as NPMA president, and we're grateful to the customers and communities who have supported Big Time throughout the years.
